Tell me about your favorite RPGs for iPhone and iPad by leaving a comment down below or hitting me up on Twitter. Read my full review of Fire Emblem Heroes to see even more reasons why I love the game! The brightly colored suits of armor, the impossibly saturated hues of hair, and the insane eye-to-face ratio of each character is present in abundance. All the cutscenes and dialogue show all the characters in their full anime glory and no detail is left out. While game progression has all the hallmarks of a typical freemium game, you won't need to shell out any money to enjoy 98% of what the game has to offer, which is a lot more than I can say for other free-to-play games.įire Emblem Heroes is visually amazing. Whether you're a fan of the long-running Fire Emblem series or a complete newcomer, Nintendo has beautifully designed a game that keeps both groups happy. Even if someone has no intention of diving into the endgame, the main campaign is enjoyable enough to be worth recommending on its own.Fire Emblem Heroes is a stellar game through and through. While the game's story can be a bit polarizing, The Division 2 shines in the gameplay and customization department. RELATED: Amazon Luna: Things You Didn't Know You Could Do The version on Amazon Luna includes The Warlords of New York expansion, which was generally well-received by the player base. Debuting in 2019, The Division 2 garnered a positive reception at the time, and it has improved in a number of ways since then. Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Warlords Of New York Ultimate EditionĪn online-only action RPG might not sound like a great fit for a streaming gaming service, but Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Warlords of New York Ultimate Edition is one of the best role-playing games on Amazon Luna. Although hardly lacking in style, the combat is also reasonably challenging and deep enough to remain entertaining for the campaign's sizable length. Players can swap between characters at the click of a button, and each warrior comes with their own weapon type, strengths, and weaknesses. However, the game's appeal starts and ends with its battle system, which is an absolute blast. The only other game(s) I can think of I like just as much are the assassins creed series. Ys 8's story is decent and benefits from having a likable roster of core characters and an intriguing setting in the Isle of Seiren. Those have always been the games Ive had most fun on until Skyrim. Before long, Adol adds a few people to his party, resulting in six playable characters. After a shipwreck, Adol ends up on a mysterious island filled with dangerous monsters and secrets yearning to be discovered. Ys 8: Lacrimosa Of Danais among the franchise's greatest games, along with being one of the most accessible to modern audiences since it shifted the series fully into 3D territory. Nihon Falcom's Ys might not have the mainstream appeal of a Final Fantasy or even Tales, but the series helped pioneer action JRPGs and has been a constant source for quality titles for more than three decades. Visually, the title's pixilated graphics are gorgeous, ranking right up there with nearly any indie release. Blending melee and ranged weaponry, Lea is responsive and simply fun to control, and she also unlocks new abilities as the campaign progresses. RELATED: Best Indie RPGs Of The Last 5 Years (According To Metacritic)ĬrossCode's combat is fantastic. As she ventures out on a quest to discover herself, the story gradually peels back the layers as it reveals what is truly going on in this world. Set in a futuristic MMO, CrossCode follows Lea, a girl stripped of memories and the ability to talk. CrossCodeis a must-play for anyone fond of classic '90s action RPGs, but Radical Fish's game amounts to far more than just a nostalgia trip. Throwbacks to the SNES era are hardly in short supply in 2022, and every month seems to contain a handful of indie titles worth checking out. As good as the gameplay gets, Indivisible excels in its characters and world-building, two things that place the game firmly among the best RPGs on Amazon Luna. Combat takes the form of turn-based battles built upon a combo system, one packed with options thanks to the game's vast roster of party members. Indivisible's traversal is done through platforming sections while these control beautifully, they do suffer from some pacing issues. After her village is destroyed and her father is killed, the protagonist goes on a wild and memorable journey to uncover the reason behind this senseless slaughter. Set in the land of Loka, players control Ajna, a teenage girl who possesses the power to absorb people into her mind. From the minds that blessed the world with Skullgirlscomes Indivisible, a creative action RPG that oozes personality out of every frame.
